Warehouses settings

In Cin7 ForesightAI, you can optimize your inventory across all your business locations, from your warehouses to retail stores to production centers. You can manage the different locations in your business and define the time taken to transfer stock between locations. While the Edit Arena allows you to manage your products at an individual level, you can control your inventory at a higher level with Supplier and Warehouses settings.

  1. Select your user profile and then Warehouses.

  2. This will open a list of all your locations. You can then hide locations, mark production locations, and add transfer times and periods.

Visible

When selected, all products in this location are included in the Cin7 ForesightAI analysis. Clear this to hide this location from ForesightAI calculations, reports, forecasts, and purchase order suggestions (Smart Reorder). You might want to hide your outdated locations, dropshipping locations, or the head office. Hidden locations will still appear in the list of locations in the Warehouses settings so you can make it visible again if needed.

Production

You can select what locations are manufacturing or "production" locations. Cin7 ForesightAI will suggest:

  • Production jobs for bill of material products (BOM) in this location.

  • Raw materials needed for manufacturing in this location.

  • Transfers for finished goods to other locations (e.g. retail store).

Transfer lead time

You can set how long it takes to transfer products from one location to another. This is your lead time between receiving the transfer request and when the product arrives in the new location (e.g. 3 days). Lead times can help Cin7 ForesightAI plan replenishment and avoid stockouts.

Transfer purchase period

You can choose how frequently your location does transfers to other locations. Longer periods will consolidate multiple shipments together less frequently and help optimize your logistics. Shorter periods will send smaller but frequent shipments, which is useful for products with short expiry dates.

Edit Arena

All of the Warehouses settings are applied to all products in an entire location. However, you can refine your forecasts even further by applying controls per product in the Edit Arena. You can filter for a specific warehouse and bulk update all products in that location. Edit Arena offers a wider range of controls and settings than what is available in the Warehouses settings. Any setting in the Edit Arena will override your Warehouses settings.
